St. Michael's School

Fr. Fangmeyer has met with the financial personnel of the Archdiocese of Washington and the School Advisory Board of SMS to establish the tuition rates. The actual cost to educate each child is $6,600, if we remain at the current enrollment. Please refer to the third column in the chart above for 2010-2011 tuition rates for pre-K through 8th grade. We require a non-refundable registration fee of $150 per child (max $300 per family) due with the registration form.

Practicing Catholic families are those that are registered in a parish, attend Mass regularly, and contribute financially to the parish.

Fundraising/Volunteer Agreement Requirements: all volunteers must be fingerprinted and attend a Protecting God's Children Workshop. Volunteer requirements include 15 hours of volunteer time with or without supervision of children, two hours of work for the annual auction, and generating $350 profit through Home School Association fundraising efforts. Families that choose not to participate in volunteer and fundraising pay the actual cost per pupil for each child attending St. Michael's School. The actual cost will be adjusted according to enrollment as of September 30, 2010.

Tuition assistance is available from the Archdiocese of Washington. Assistance is based on a moderate standard of living. Every SMS family seeking assistance is required to complete a Private School Aid Service (PSAS) application. Families who file the application will qualify for the published tuition rate in the above table. Click here to see the Archdiocese Tuition Assistance web site and to download the application forms. The deadline for applying for the 2010-2011 school year was December 4, 2009. Hard copies of the PSAS application are available in the school office.
